Music is a wonderful medium for self-expression. It enhances creativity and develops lifelong learning skills.

The benefits for children include: confidence building, high self-esteem, discipline, social interaction skills, spatial awareness, physical and rhythmic coordination, aural perception, and performance skills.

To make music fun and challenging, an innovative program as well as caring, qualified teachers are needed.

Mark Gibson - MMus, BMus(Dist), GradDipMus, GradDipFET, LTCL, FTCL, AMusA

Mark has a reputation for setting and achieving the highest standards. This has been the hallmark of his seventeen years as a music educator and performer.

Mark's career has focused upon excellence in both private studio and group music education. As a school Director and principal teacher of a Yamaha Music School, Mark successfully fostered competence and a love of music in students ranging from four years to adult.

His skills in teaching and composition were recognised when on two occasions his students were selected to perform as the Yamaha AJOC (Asia Oceania Junior Original Concert) in Jakarta and Taipei.

His experience as a tutor and lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology and as an examiner for the AMEB are an indication of his outstanding academic abilities. These have been made manifest in a practical way through the development of complete Junior and Extension music courses, which have been distributed through several schools in Brisbane and elsewhere in Australia.

Mark's interest in computer technology has led him to study for a Master of Fine Arts in this area. The programming and research involved with this, together with his extensive business and educational experience give a valuable impetus to Accent Publishing.
